Physical Therapy Search Box Central
PubMed is the premier index to medical literature. It is a free resource developed and maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine. PubMed provides free access to MEDLINE, links to full-text articles found in PubMed Central or at publisher websites, and other related resources. PubMed also provides Clinical Queries search filters, and Special Queries pages.
CINAHL: Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health
CINAHL is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers. This database provides indexing for 2,928 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 1,000,000 records dating back to 1981.
Academic Search Premier
This multi-disciplinary database provides full text for more than 4,600 journals, including full text for nearly 3,900 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.
This database focuses on scientific, technical and medical research. It includes peer reviewed journals, book chapters and open access content. The medical collection includes 255 journal titles with Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation as their subject.
Salem Press is a collection of online reference books. The collection includes several health reference titles.
Credo Reference is a collection of online reference books. The collection includes several health and medicine titles. It is a good source for background, general, introductory information on a topic.
Google Scholar includes both books and articles. Be careful when selecting that the source is reputable. If an article is not made freely available online, remember that you can use the BC3 Library's Request an Article service to request it and we will do our best to obtain it and email it to you - free of charge.

The BC3 Library has both print and electronic books for all areas of healthcare, including physical therapy/physical therapist assistant. They are all listed in the BC3 Library Catalog where you will find Dewey call numbers to locate books on the shelves (lower level of the library) and links to connect you to e-books. E-books can also be searched separately in our two e-book collections: e-Book Central by Proquest and e-Book Collection by EBSCO.
Browsing the Stacks
Healthcare books are located in the 610 section of the library. This includes all areas of healthcare.
Books specifically about physical therapy and physical therapist assistants are located in 615-616.
