The ATTC Network is an international, multidisciplinary resource for professionals in the addictions treatment and recovery services field. Its mission includes accelerating the adoption and implementation of evidence-based and promising addiction treatment and recovery-oriented practices and services and to foster regional and national alliances among culturally diverse practitioners, researchers, policy makers, funders, and the recovery community.

Children and Family Futures is a national nonprofit organization based in Lake Forest, California that focuses on the intersections among child welfare, mental health, substance use disorder treatment, and court systems. They believe parents with mental health and substance use disorders should maintain hope of achieving recovery and family stability so they can care for their children. While no single system or agency working by itself can help parents achieve that goal, they recognize that recovery happens within the context of the family and professionals from a variety of agencies and systems must work together to meet the needs of families.

Faces and Voices of Recovery is dedicated to organizing and mobilizing the over 23 million Americans in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs, our families, friends and allies into recovery community organizations and networks, to promote the right and resources to recover through advocacy, education and demonstrating the power and proof of long-term recovery.

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is the nation's largest nonprofit treatment provider, with a legacy that began in 1949 and includes the 1982 founding of the Betty Ford Center. The Foundation offers prevention and recovery solutions nationwide across the entire continuum of care for youth and adults. Singularly focused on the problem of addiction, the Foundation includes the nation's largest recovery publishing house, an influential institute for recovery advocacy and policy, intensive educational programs for medical students and professionals, a fully-accredited graduate school of addiction studies, and more.

The NAADAC/NC CAP Code of Ethics was written to govern the conduct of NAADAC's members and it is the accepted standard of conduct for addiction professionals certified by the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP). The code of ethics reflects ideals of NAADAC and its members, and is designed as a statement of the values of the profession and as a guide for making clinical decisions.

SMART Recovery is an abstinence-oriented, not-for-profit organization for individuals with addictive problems that is NOT based in faith. SMART Recovery does not use labels like “addict” or “alcoholic.” They teach scientifically validated methods designed to empower individuals to change and to develop a more positive lifestyle.

ASAM is a professional medical society representing over 6,000 physicians, clinicians, and associated professionals in the field of addiction medicine. ASAM is dedicated to increasing access and improving the quality of addiction treatment, educating physicians and the public, supporting research and prevention, and promoting the appropriate role of physicians in the care of patients with addiction.

NAADAC represents the professional interests of more than 100,000 addiction counselors, educators, and other addiction-focused health care professionals in the United States, Canada, and abroad. An important part of the healthcare continuum, NAADAC members and its 47 state, territory, and international affiliates work to create healthier individuals, families, and communities through prevention, intervention, quality treatment and recovery support.

IAAOC is an organization of professional counselors and other interested individuals who work in the addictions or forensic/criminal justice fields and advocate for the appropriate treatment for such client populations.

NAATP is a nonprofit society of addiction counseling professionals that provides member support by offering clinical and operational resources and law and policy advocacy. This organization is geared more toward service providers running their own practices, but individuals are eligible for membership as well. Benefits include networking opportunities, information sharing, visibility, training, industry news, salary surveys, job listings, vendor discounts, and expert consultations.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities.
